After a couple of iterations as a lite beta version, Rovios’ Angry Birds is available for Android as a free ad-supported download. A future update will include the option to purchase and opt out of the advertisements. (Download link after the break)
After some initial problems — some users were unable to find Angry Birds in the Android Market — Rovio initially chose to make its application available to as many people as possible through GetJar. http://www.getjar.com/angry-birds . Angry Birds will run on second generation Android devices, with Android OS 1.6 or later. Your device must support OpenGL ES 2.0. QVGA display resolution are not currently supported. Rovio added that they will add support for QVGA devices soon.
When I tried to download the app, I landed on the GetJar error page, which indicated “technical difficulties due to high demand.” So it may be awhile before you can actually download the application. So keep trying, have fun!
